Selection Mechanics

 

The Ramon V. Del Rosario, Sr. Award for Nation Building Committee (RVR Award Committee) shall be the governing body of the entire project. The Award Committee shall be composed of members of the Junior Chamber International - Manila (JCI-Manila) and officers of AIM's RVR Center for Corporate Social Responsibility (RVR Center for CSR).

Selection Criteria

The Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. Award for Nation Building (RVR Award) shall be given to a person who best exhibits GOOD CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP and has an underlying passion for NATION-BUILDING coupled with a focus in performing activities considered within the ambit of CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, all of which were passions, traits and characteristics exemplified by the late Ambassador.

The nominee must be an entrepreneur or a business leader/manager with an entrepreneurial mindset - a risk-taker who has the skills and initiative in establishing and managing a business.

For the first RVR Award, the nominee must be a Filipino citizen, male or female, who must be of impeccable moral standing and must not be convicted by final judgment of any crime involving moral turpitude.

Nomination Rules

Nomination of qualified candidates for the 2012 RVR Award can be made by any person, institution, or organization subject to the following requirements: (a) the nominating person or authorized organization representative must fill out and sign the Official Nomination Form (ONF), agreeing to be subjected to the rules and procedures of the awards committee. The said form may be downloaded at www.rvrnationbuilding.com;  (b) Specifics of the bid, which must be attached to the ONF, shall follow the following format:

 

  1. An Executive Summary following the prescribed format should not exceed two pages and text and should be typed using a minimum font size of 12 points.
    1. Personal Profile
      1. Educational Attainment
      2. Character, Integrity and Moral Values
    2. Entrepreneurship/Business Leadership
      1. Level of participation
      2. Length of involvement
    3. Impact on Overall Public Welfare and National Development
      1. Socio-economic and/or cultural impact
      2. Geographic Impact
      3. Years of dedicated work and service
    4. Advancement of Corporate Social Responsibility
    5. Awards and recognition
  2. Nomination book (clearbook, scrapbook or bookbinded pages)
    1. The nomination book should not exceed 40 pages (including all attachments, annexes, pictures, press releases, etc, but excluding the executive summary) and text should be typed using a minimum font size of 12 points.
    2. The nomination book should provide descriptions and answers to the following questions.
      1. Entrepreneurial Spirit
        1. How does the candidate demonstrate innovativeness (i.e. by pioneering new approaches, showing the ability to adapt, and by research and development)?
        2. Please give examples of some areas where risk was an issue. Has the candidate shown and over-come risk factors? How has he positively overcome these obstacles?
        3. Does the candidate demand high standards for him and those in his organization and how has this influenced those he works with? (i.e. by way of effective professional training, encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship, adequate incentives and remuneration, ownership opportunities and life-long learning).
        4. Does the candidate's work have significant results or outcomes? Are these measurable? Are there testimonials to show impact on the beneficiaries?
        5. Is/was the candidate instrumental in the development of the visions and goals for the further growth of the organization?
      2. National and Global impact
        1. Does the candidate "make a difference" in the business world in terms of revenues generated? Does the organization of the candidate operate with the putting first and forefront the greater good of the Filipino?
        2. Does this candidate's projects involve more stakeholders than just those in the immediate areas where the organization operates in?
        3. Does the candidate's projects offer a solution to national problems? Does it propose a system-wide solution as opposed to different activities?
        4. Does the candidate's projects offer a solution to global problems? Does it propose a system-wide solution as opposed to different activities? Will the benefits be long term?
        5. Does the candidate's work have significant results or outcomes? Are these measurable? Are there testimonials to show impact on the beneficiaries? Will the benefits be long term?
        6. Can the organization's mission be accomplished if the candidate leaves the organization?
      3. Corporate Citizenship (Individual and/or Corporate Social Responsibility)
        1. Does the candidate improve the lives of the employees by way of effective professional training, adequate incentives and remuneration, ownership opportunities and Life Long Learning?
        2. Does the candidate utilize corporate expertise other than just financial resources?
        3. Can the candidate's projects be sustained if the corporation leaves the community where it operates in? Is the program an integral part of the way the company does business?
        4. To what extent has the candidate integrated CSR into the core strategy of the company.
        5. Does the candidate's work have significant results or outcomes? Are these measurable? Are there testimonials to show impact on the beneficiaries?
    3. Attach related supplementary materials such as pictures, news articles, clippings and other information to each of the criteria above.

Submit one (1) original copy and seven (7) photocopies of the accomplished nomination form, executive summary and nomination book, including the attachments thereof and eight (8) 2"x2" colored photos of the Nominee.

The bid must be mailed or submitted to the official drop-off points on or before May 15, 2012 with the date of mailing being considered the date of submission. Offical drop-off points are:

Failure to abide by these rules may be a ground for the disqualification of the said Nominee.
